Who we are
Mathla is a community platform for Arabic Sign Language: a place to collect verified signs, learn together, organize campaigns, and grow a shared database that serves Deaf and hearing people across the region — starting with the UAE and the wider Arabic-speaking world.
What the platform offers
On one account you can contribute signs, study learning paths (classes and lessons), use the dictionary, join community discussions, follow campaigns, and — if you represent a school or association — run an organization portal. Reviewers and moderators protect quality and safety.
Deaf-led by design
Dictionary quality and cultural representation are guided by Deaf reviewers and community norms. Teachers and technical reviewers support the process. Allies are welcome; Deaf linguistic authority is not optional.
Privacy and dignity
Sign videos can show faces and bodies. We treat that with care: versioned consent, per-video visibility choices, and review before any public dictionary use. Training-only contributions stay private from the public dictionary.
Looking ahead
Today we deepen the Arabic database and learning community. Tomorrow that foundation supports continuous conversation tools. The path is deliberate: quality and trust first, then scale.
