Why community rules exist

Mathla Community is a shared space for Arabic Sign Language culture, learning, and collaboration. These rules protect dignity, Deaf leadership, and the trust required to build a public knowledge resource together.

Deaf-led

Deaf community voices lead dictionary and cultural decisions. Hearing allies support — they do not override Deaf expertise on sign validity and representation.

Respect and inclusion

Respect sign-language diversity, regional variation, and cultural context. No hate speech, slurs, or demeaning language about disability or People of Determination. Disagreement is welcome; humiliation is not.

Safety

No harassment, doxing, threats, or sharing others’ private information. Report concerns via moderation tools or [email protected].

Quality and honesty

Sign requests and learning posts should be constructive. Do not spread medical, legal, or emergency misinformation. Campaign and organization leads must communicate clearly with participants.

What you can post

Questions, announcements, learning tips, campaign updates, and respectful discussion of signs and culture. Keep content relevant to Arabic Sign Language and community building.

Enforcement

Moderators may warn, hide content, suspend, or ban accounts. Repeated violations increase sanctions. Appeals may be submitted via support.
